Spent the night in a Spar supermarket carpark then had a relaxing walk down to Wolfgangsee lake in the morning through Alpine meadow with a riot of wild flowers. The drive was typical motorway experience, except even worse because long stretches were enclosed by the snow barriers at the sides of the road so all we could see was the traffic in front. Huge numbers of lorries from every country in eastern and central Europe. The weather was beautiful and my sister has just told me about the wet freezing weather in England (smiley face).
Looking for somewhere to park on the edge of a big city is always a nightmare but we usually manage to find somewhere good. Made for the railway station at Liesing but nowhere to park and the place was a bit rough – expecting to see hordes of wild-eyed feral kids with lump hammers in their hands round every corner – so went on to Perchsomething where we coud have parked in front of a private house. I could have emptied the portapotty, which is now full to over-flowing, in somebodies front garden but Jennifer talked me out of it. So went on to the station at Brunn-maria Enzersdorf and found a park-and-ride carpark to spend the night. Will leave van there tomorrow and get train into Vienna.
