A pretty useless day. We got a hearty welcome from the manager of the Zilol Bakht hotel who directed us to a bank so we could pay the Russian guy, Mohamed Yusupov, and also told me where we could get my glasses mended. I was so exhausted after touring Samakand that I fell asleep on top of them. The bank was unable to help and, on the way back to the hotel, we passed a Georgian restaurant. Diving inside, we each got a smoke salmon and cream cheeae salad for £5. I then went to get my glasses mended and, after returning to the hotel, relaxed for the rest of the day.
