Day 67 (20th July) Fenghuang

Nothing much to say today. We went down the road to the riverside and, crossing a bridge, walked down a different side of the river. It was much better than last time because there was no traffic and, strangely for China, not too many people. However half the shops were selling these silly women’s dresses and the other half were restaurants. We found the lovely little cafe we visited in 2012 and had cod nuggets and chips and a delicious (but expensive) passion fruit tea. The day was very hot and humid and we returned to the hotel exhausted.

Some good news: my grandson who got kicked in the head at rugby and sent to hospital with severe concussion has made a full recovery.
