As the hotel did not kick us out until midday, we decided to make the best of the money we had spent and had a long lie-in. So we didn’t get out of Atyrau until the early afternoon, and had an uneventful journey to a parking place to the south of Beyneu. We filled the tank with diesel and also the two cannisters we had brought because diesel is very scarce in Uzbekistan.
