Day 11 (6th February) Ranthambore

This was a quiet day as we recovered from a sleepless night. We went to a “Women’s Cooperative” to look at some beautiful silk fabrics allegedly made by destitute women. They are either very clever or the fabric is mass-produced because it was beautiful. We were followed round by an intensely-annoying young man urging us to buy everything to the point where Jennifer fled the shop and went to sit outside. She complained to Mr Mukesh and he took her back to the shop; the shop assistants got the message and stayed well away. I stroked a tiger.

In the evening we went to the non-tourist arcade full of eateries where we had been the previous night and had delicious meals for practically nothing. There was more noise during the night but it was relatively subdued chanting and I suspect it was for a funeral.
