After a drive round the beautiful Lake Pichola, we went to see an open air museum with a puppet show, groups of musicians with some of the visitors dancing, and a typical house from Jaisalmer in the Thar Desert. The next location to be visited was the Sahelion Ki Bari gardens, created in the 18th century by the Maharana Sangram Singh as a retreat for the ladies of the court. It has four large pools with fountains, the water arriving in underground pipes from the Fateh Sagar Lake. After lunch we went to see a studio where the painting of miniatures for which Udaipur is famous was taking place.
